Tipe inner/outer. Disposition 2 x 8' 1 x 4' Compass C/E - c''', short octave. This instrument is representative of the art of harpsichord making in Italy during the 17th century, of which a few witnesses remain bat unfortunately no evidences. As a matter of fact the way two bridges of 8' are laid out on the soundboard, typical of this harpsichord, can be found in instruments like the Faby of Bologna, Paris; the De Quoco, Copenaghen. This instrument further features a 4' register, unusual in this kind of harpsichords. It is therefore possible to assert this example represents an "unicum" in the Italian harpsichord making art. |
